Mid Anglia Microlight News – 4th Mar 2015
Due to circumstances beyond our control, our faithful old workhorse the Ikarus C-42 G-CFAV has moved on to pastures new. As our brand new C-42 aircraft isn’t due from the factory until May we have secured the use of a Medway SLA in the interim. The SLA is British built, has the same Rotax 912 engine, viceless handling and is only 3 years old with low hours. Should be fun for all!

Mid Anglia Microlight News – 02 Feb 2015
Well 2015 has been a busy time here at Mid Anglia Microlights; where to start?
Our faithful C-42 will be heading to pastures new later this year as we’re expecting delivery of a brand new machine towards the middle of the year. After much discussion, we’ve opted for the same model, a C-42A rather than the C-42B but with a Ballistic Recovery System (BRS) fitted. The C-42A is lighter than the B-model and in conjunction with the BRS (which is a worthwhile safety aid in itself), will give us a decent amount of extra payload enabling us to raise the passenger weight limit. We’ve also redesigned the dash layout subtly to afford better visibility of primary instruments to student and instructor alike – and it should have some eye catching livery too.
The P&M GT450 was inspected for it’s annual permit to fly in late January but sadly the sail failed the Betts test. Still, that’s what the test is there for – we’d rather find out on the ground than in the air! A shiny new sail from manufacture P&M is in our clutches already and should be fitted this weekend all being well, so normal service will be resumed shortly. Look out for some pictures as we’ve gone for a slightly different colour scheme.
MAM will soon have it’s very own clubhouse! We’re going to be using the 2 rooms above the RainAir storage block. Watch out for safety railings coming soon – we’ll have a really nice viewing gallery, briefing room and a study room. we can’t wait.
